May 14, 2024 I The AtlanTTic center hosted this morning the celebration of the third of the conferences “Connecting in equality”. On this occasion it focused on the role of women in cybersecurity, closing the cycle of events of this year. The main objective of this cycle is to raise awareness in society trying to show the need for technology to move towards more inclusive, feminist and diversity aspects. This activity is supported by PuntoGal and the Equality Unit of UVigo.
Among the speakers at the round table, in addition to well-known names in the field of ICT in Galicia such as Ana Fernández Vilas, Pilar Vila, Elena Rodríguez Lois or Edita de Lorenzo, who acted as moderator, was Eduvigis Ortiz, president and founder of Women4Cyber Spain. Her presence is part of the activities under the collaboration agreement that this European entity, focused on the role of women in cybersecurity, maintains with PuntoGal.
Prior to their participation in this conference, a tripartite meeting was held between Women4Cyber, PuntoGal and the ciber.gal node to explore possibilities for future collaboration and the expansion of work on the gender perspective in the field of cybersecurity in Galicia. In addition to Eduvigis Ortiz, Edita de Lorenzo, secretary of the board of PuntoGal, Adrián Lence, director of AMTEGA and Gustavo Herva, head of security of AMTEGA were present.
