Santiago de Compostela , June 5 2023 | The managing directors of PuntoGal, Darío Janeiro and of the developers of Opentrad, , imaxin|software , Diego Vázquez signed an collaboration agreement with the objective to promote the use of Galician on the digital area. This agreement seeks to take advantage of the advances in automatic translation in relation with the Galician in order to incorporate this language in websites with a PuntoGal domain.

WordPress is the most widely used content maintenance system on the web, accounting, according to some estimates, for a third of all websites currently in operation, and approaching 500 million web pages. This agreement allows users who have activated the possibility of having content in several languages to automate their version in Galician, for example.

On the act of signature, Darío Janeiro stated that “this is just a first step towards making the presence of Galician in one of the most popular, robut and used platforms on the net even more widespread”, highlighting “the easy use and reliability of the translation system, the result of a close collaboration with Opentrad over the last few years”.

On his side, diego Vázquez highlighted the enormous possibilities that automatic translation and other language tools offer the Galician people and “from Opentrad  we are happy to be able to collaborate with PuntoGal so that WordPress users can have our tranlation system integrated”.
