UA is the principle that all domain names and email addresses on the internet must be recognized and used correctly, regardless of their language or length, and function without restrictions across various applications and devices. In the case of Galician, a lack of UA implementation can lead to the malfunctioning of domain names and addresses in this language, such as those ending in .gal.
Coinciding with the celebration of World UA Day on Friday, March 28, PuntoGal teams up with ICANN, the organization that internationally coordinates the domain name system and assigns internet IP addresses, to raise visibility for the importance of Universal Acceptance. This informative material is dedicated to this topic and will also be the central theme of the event taking place on March 28 in the auditorium of the Faculty of Audiovisual Communication at the University of A Coruña (UDC), located on the Elviña campus. Both entities are organizing the event with the collaboration of the Professional College of Computer Engineering of Galicia and the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers.
