PuntoGal, in collaboration with ciber.gal, is promoting several initiatives related to the European NIS2 security directive.

A Coruña, May 22, 2025 – PuntoGal is launching a campaign today to raise awareness about the importance of the European NIS 2 directive, which aims to strengthen cybersecurity in companies and organizations. The initiatives, in collaboration with the Galicia Cybersecurity Node, Ciber.gal, include an online training session, the publication of a list of recommendations, and a webpage with information and resources.

The NIS 2 requires the implementation of strict protection measures and the reporting of significant security incidents. It affects a large part of the economic and productive sectors. However, to this day, it remains largely unknown to many organizations. One key issue is the adaptation of company protocols to the National Security Framework (ENS).

On Tuesday, June 3, at 11:00 a.m., PuntoGal, in collaboration with Ciber.gal and Incibe—the National Cybersecurity Institute—is organizing an informational webinar titled “NIS2, Security, and Best Practices.” Nacho Amadoz, an ICT law specialist and partner at the consultancy Mooenia, will discuss “The Impact of NIS2 on Organizations.” Following him, Cristina Filgueira, a consultant on the National Security Framework at Tempo Consultores, will talk about “What It Is, Who It Affects, and Key Points of NIS2.”

Finally, Diego Vázquez, managing partner at Imaxín, will address NIS2 from the perspective of a company that has already gone through the official certification process. His presentation is titled: “From Obligation to Opportunity: ENS as a Driver of Improvement.” The session will be moderated by PuntoGal’s administration manager, Cristina Ríos.

Attendance is free but requires prior registration through the following form: i.gal/nis2.

To complement this outreach action, PuntoGal has launched the site nis2.dominio.gal, where visitors can find comprehensive information on the importance of the directive, along with tips and useful resources.

Additionally, the registry has published an informational leaflet, which can be downloaded from the previously mentioned website. It includes, among other things, a ten-point guide created by the organization with key recommendations for optimal adaptation to NIS2.

These activities are part of PuntoGal’s ongoing efforts in the field of cybersecurity, a global issue affecting companies, institutions, and citizens. In this regard, the domain has already compiled several guides for businesses, users, and media, which are available at: dominio.gal/guias
