On one side we got the ICANN (Corporation to asign names and numbers). It is the entity in charge of the functioning of the Net and that the things can be found by their name. Non-profit and international entity which goes beyond the technical searching for the balance and representativeness of all the online cultures and communities.

Of course, ICANN cannot be in charge of the registration of all the functioning domains. That is why it delegates to domain operators, or registries, as DotGal. We maintain and promote the use of a cultural and geographic domain, but we do not sell domains directly. That is done by other entities, more technical, which are the registrars.

Registrar are enterprises accredited to sell domain names by the ICAAN. They can sell different domains, and they usually offer other services online that can complement each other, so that, it is not necessary to depend on several companies or providers to launch a mail or a webpage.
