Today we talk with the team of manchea.gal, a movable type printing workshop in Coruña, which have just made the graphics for the short stories contest of PuntoGal.

Question: Good morning! Tell us a littel bit about who you are in manchea.gal are and what you do.

Answer: We are a collective of two people passionate about mobile typography and the world of traditional printing. We work on the field of graphic arts always trying to go for artisanal processes.

Q: Why did you choose manchea.gal as a name for your brand and your website?

A: Choosing a name seems to be one of the more complicated things to do. We finally chose “manchea” becouse there is a handful of things we are interested to do (related with printing but also working with metal, wood, or any other handcraft related work)

Q: What are your future plans? Where do you want to go?

A: Our plans for the future are to continue along the same path in where we are, on one side, keep on working on book production, of what they mean as a media for knowledge spreading and  and for the attraction they have for us as as object.  We also want to continue working in any way online, collaborating with other people and other collectives on common projects and last, to further develop the didactic work with workshops that make graphic arts available to anyone who wants them.

Q: What do you think .gal domain offers you? Why did you choose .gal?

A: We chose puntogal because one of our main principles is working from the locla level. Manchea is a project which was born as is developing accordint to the context in which we live, puntogal helps people helps people place us in that project at first sight. Besides, by simply logic, Galiza and Galician culture, in the 21st Century, have to have presence on the social networks.

Q: Do you have something to tell to the visitors of .gal domain?
