Today we talk with the Galician Socio-Pedagogic Association, with 40 years of existence, to know a little more about them.
Question: Who are you and what do you do?
Answer: We are a movement or socio-pedagogic renewal pioneer in Galicia and a cultural association. The AS-PG has over 800 associates from all the country, directly or indirectly bounded to the primary, secondary or university education.
Q: A little review of your history and your main works or activities during this time
A: The Socio-Pedagogic Association was constituted in 1976. So, it is over 40 years old.
During this time, the AS-PG expanded its activities and increased the number of associates until it became the reference Movement for Pedagogical Renewal among Galician teachers.
We dedicate our efforts to the organization of cultural and teacher training activities. In addition, we also publish teaching materials and are very active at social media.
We have been creating and updating the Historia da Literatura Galega, literaturagalega.as-pg.gal, a modern and up-to-date online encyclopaedia about our literature.
Q: Which are your future plans? Where do you want to go?
A: We would like to continue promoting the Galician language and culture, proposing new projects in different areas, as well as promoting our associative activity.
Q: Which is your web? Why did you choose that name? And, why do you prefer .gal domain?
A: Our web site is www.as-pg.gal.
We prefer the .gal domain because we are committed to our country.
Q: What do you think .gal provides to you?
A: We feel that it distinguishes and identifies us as a Galician association concerned about our language and culture.
