Today we talk to Ernes and Rosi, who bring food from the orchard to the table everyday, caring for the land so they can do it for many years. They send and deliver thiri product throughout Galicia from their web alouminhosdaterra.gal.
Question: Who you are and what do you do?
Answer: Aloumiños da Terra are two farmers, Ernes (Vigo) and Rosi (Ponteareas), a team which works together on the word of the food sustainability. Two people which find themselves on the path and started together the travel of living of what we love: farming the land and collecting the fruits.
We plow the land with effort and affection for those who wanted to receive on their homes the products of our lands.
Besides our fruits and vegetables, we sell and deliver at home Galician organic packaged products.
We feed the land with ecological compost, we control the plagues with nettle manure, horsetail herb and diatomaceous soil; we practice permaculture, crop rotation and association…definitely, a lot of affection an none chemical!
We started to sell via WhatsApp. But, we were encouraged by the incentive of PuntoGal to start to sell online, becoming this model more atractive for us and our aloumiñeiras. By this, we can organize much better our orders and deliveries at home.
Of course, selling our product is a way of earning a living, but also to spread the model of a enviromental fair food consume, and with us.
Q: How do you met and how the project was born?
A: All started a few years ago on a ecologic orchard course in Mondariz. The curiosity and the desire to learn make us to come together. Once the course finished, we wanted to set in motion our knowledges. The aim of living of our work in the fields and the personal development in contact with nature came us together.
Q: ¿Which are your future plans? ¿Where do you want to go?
A: Nothing will have sense if we do not wanted to live this way. Our objective is to reach whoever wanted to be feed with proximity and healthy fruits and vegetables. Keeping on with the weekly delivery to the people who trust in us, and share with them a bit of our lives. To spread Aloumiños (affection) with Terra (soil) taste.
Q: Where can we find you and why do you use PuntoGal domain?
A: Our website is alouminhosdaterra.gal. The intention of our name is giving the value soil has for us, the love it brings by providing us everything we need and the respect she deserve.
The .gal agrees with our idea of a country full of resources in which a proximity feeding model is possible.
Q: What do you think .gal provides?
A: It provides proffesionality and identity, as a people with a proper language and a country with full capacities to develop itself.
