July 23, 2025 – PuntoGal and Raiola Networks present today their new email system, omeu.gal, which will allow anyone to have a personalized address with a .gal domain, free of charge, developed with open-source software and high capabilities.

This is the first free email system with a .gal domain, hosted on Raiola’s servers and based on an open-source interface that is under constant review and improvement. Getting started is very simple and only requires an alternative email address for password recovery and some basic user information to begin using the service.

Omeu.gal is entirely in Galician, including the help system. The only requirement to take advantage of the 3 GB of storage it offers is to use it periodically—at least once every three months.

The email service can be used from any browser and includes native apps for iOS and Android, always with secure SSL access.

This launch, held to mark Galicia Day, represents the first collaboration between PuntoGal and Raiola, which will be followed in the coming months by a premium paid version of the service, offering additional features such as linking with a custom domain or expanded storage up to 10 GB. Both organizations are also exploring the launch of other related products and services as part of a long-term partnership.

Darío Janeiro, general director of PuntoGal, stated that this service is “a long-standing and recurring request from PuntoGal customers, and it reflects the domain’s commitment to Galician society and its language.”

Janeiro, who thanked Raiola for their collaboration on the project, highlighted the capabilities of the email service and described it as a successful example of cooperation between Galician entities in the tech sector. “Omeu.gal is also the starting point for new developments and projects in this area, always within the framework of the domain’s corporate program to develop and support initiatives in the fields of ICT, culture, and the Galician language,” he concluded.
