24 September 2024 I PuntoGal and the Global Cyber Alliance (GCA) yesterday
presented a cybersecurity toolkit designed to protect the data of non-governmental and nonprofit organizations and their employees and collaborators but available to any interested user. This is the third collaboration between the organizations, after a dedicated one for SMEs and another for journalists presented last year.
This “toolbox” is a translated and adapted version of the Cybersecurity Toolkit for Mission-Based Organizations developed by GCA, which compiles solutions that can be used free of charge and to ensure the security of communications and data storage both in professional activities and leisure, as well as for private communications of employees of nonprofit organizations.
The managing director of PuntoGal, Darío Janeiro, pointed out that “this third toolbox
undoubtedly strengthens the collaboration with GCA and helps NGO entities and
workers secure their work and communications, which in many cases take place in a foreign and not always friendly environment.” Janeiro finally commented that “these activities are part of the domains effort to become a safe space for all its users, which also includes protection through the Domain Trust platform, a project promoted by GCA to facilitate the exchange of information on malicious domains, one of the essential infrastructures used by cybercrime.”
“We’re excited to expand our already successful partnership with PuntoGal to make the Internet a safer place for everyone. Working together, we can do so much more to bring tools and resources like the GCA toolkits and the Domain Trust platform to more communities. We look forward to working with more mission-based organizations in Galicia,” said Brian Cute, GCA Chief Operating Officer and Capacity & Resilience Program Director.
