A Coruña, 13 September | PuntoGal met this week in Cologne with the main geographic domains that identify a city, a region, a language and a culture, and that are part of the GeoTLD Group.
The meeting, which took place on 11 and 12 September, was organised by ECO.de, a German association representing different organisations and companies, and was attended by members of domains such as .gal, .bzh, .paris, .amsterdam, .nl, .eus, .wien, .hamburg, .berlin, .denic, .fsl, .alsace, among others, as well as a number of registrars. Christopher Mondini, ICANN’s representative in Europe, which is the body that regulates the Internet worldwide, also attended.
The meeting was welcomed by the president of the group and member of the corporate area of the Fundaciò.cat, Nacho Amadoz, and during the two days the participating members were able to share their experiences and projects, and to pool their joint actions.
On behalf of PuntoGal, the marketing director, Luis Antelo, spoke about the actions carried out by the domain this year, some of them with the collaboration of the other Iberian domains .eus and .cat. He highlighted among the projects developed this year, the observatory of the Galician network, Miradoiro.gal, which has the collaboration of the Diputación de A Coruña.
