Santiago de Compostela, 3rd October 2017.- The Galician Association of Computer Engineering (CPEIG) and PuntoGal Association extended their collaboration efforts today with a the sign of a collaboration agreement which brings engineers a discount on the domains acquisition. At the same time, PuntoGal developed an sponsoring last June on the Engineering Night organised by CPEIG. This agreement of PuntoGal and the CPEIG will let the engineers an important discount on the .gal domains registry, whith a sales price reduction of over 60%. For this, PuntoGal enabled the Association a series of discount codes that may be validated through two registration agencies that joined the promotion: Dinahosting and CdMon. The CPEIG will be in charge for managing and distribute the codes among the associates. This action is part of an institutional collaboration between the institutions that exists since the creation of the domain. In fact, PuntoGal suported the celebration last June of the Engineering Night  held in Santiago de Compostela, which reached its ninth edition this year. The president of the CPEIG points out that this agreement “strengthen the ties between both entities outstanding their labour on the promotion of Galician ICTs, promoting at the same time the use of the domain by the Galician society”. On the other side, the managing director of PuntoGal, Darío Janeiro, stated that “puts on paper an existing path of understanding and partnership between the entities which is now materialised on those important discounts for the associates to have a .gal at a competitive price”. Janeiro appreciated the support that “from the  beginning, the CPEIG did and is still doing to .gal domain”. The CPEIG, created on 2007, has more than 300 associates and has among its functions the representation of the professional group of Computer Engineering. PuntoGal is an association created in 2006 by 115 entities from all the sectors of Galician society and which manages the domain .gal, with more than 4.100 registered domains at the moment.
